Animação feita com roupas conquista o 1.º prémio no maior festival de curtas do mundo

The Music escreveu:US director and producer duo Daniel 'Cloud' Campos and Spencer Susser have been crowned the winners of Tropfest 2016, with their stop-motion film titled Shiny, a whirlwind love story that comments on the world's materialism.

The painstakingly detailed stop-motion film features a slew of bodyless characters with a whole lot of action.

Tropfest founder, John Polson, said, "I congratulate Daniel Cloud Campos and Spencer Susser on taking home the Tropfest trophy this evening. Tonight’s turn out shows Tropfest is more alive and relevant than ever. It’s thrilling to see so many supporters of short film come out to celebrate grassroots storytelling.

"Tropfest’s ability to celebrate the phenomenal talent of these filmmakers with film industry heavyweights and such a huge national audience is the part of the magic that has taken many of our winners to the next level of their careers."

The duo also picked up a Craft Award for VFX, their total prize pool including a Hyundai Tucson for a year, $10,000, a trip to LA with meetings with film execs already slated in and a bunch of Nikon gear.

In an odd turn of events last week, Tropfest announced Mel Gibson as a Tropfest judge, along with The Mentalist's Simon Baker and more.
